2021 TBUG AGM Wednesday October 20, Newstead Tennis Centre from 6:00pm.
We will start at the 6:00pm with the usual free pizzas. Of course the bar will be open! The formal AGM will start at 7:00pm and run for about 45 minutes.
Our guest is TBUG member Peter Berechree who will talk about another of his amazing bike journeys. This time around central Australia and his collection of eccentric bike transport shots from SE Asia.
As part of the formal AGM there are also some important constitutional changes to be ratified. The changes are in two groups.
The first group are designed to give greater flexibility to the committee and simplify elections at the AGM. At present we are obliged to elect a committee of 11 and all office bearers at the AGM. We are finding this increasingly difficult. These proposals suggest electing a committee of between 5 and 11 and just one office bearer – The President – at the AGM. The committee would than be responsible for allocating all necessary TBUG tasks during the year. We think this would allow for roles to be shared and for more committee members to be involved in keeping TBUG going. The legal term for such a model is an Eldership model.
Accordingly, We have also updated some procedures regarding meetings finances and decision making to better reflect current and future realities.
The second group are designed to update the current objectives. The changes reflect the TBUG objectives as updated in our 2019 strategy and action plan.
You can read and down load the proposed changes below
